Kingfisher East Bengal lose to Al Weehdat in AFC Cup

East Bengal lost to Al Weehdat, Jordan by 2-4 margin in the Group B - AFC Cup match played today at Yuba Bharati Krirangan, Kolkata.
Rafat Ali (5',23'), Hassan Abdel Fattah (30',33') scored for Al Weehdat while Syed Rahim Nabi (11') and Edmilson Marques (27')Scored for East Bengal.
In another match of Group B played today at Beirut, Al Safa,Lebanon defeated Ahli Sana'a,Yemen 1-0. East Bengal are now on 2nd position in the Group B League Table.
AFC Match Report
Al Wihdat revived their AFC Cup chances with a crucial 4-2 Group B victory over East Bengal at Salt Lake Stadium on Wednesday.
All six goals came in the first-half as the visitors were pegged back twice before eventually establishing an advantage they would never relinquish.
Rafat Ali gave Al Wihdat a fifth-minute lead before Syed Rahim Nabi equalised for Alok Mukherjee's side six minutes later.
Ali netted his second of the game after 23 minutes only for East Bengal's Edmilson Marques to once again level the scores four minutes later.
Parity did not last long, however, as Hassan Abdel Fattah bagged a quickfire brace to put Al Wihdat firmly in the ascendancy.
Fattah gave the Jordanians the lead for a third time on the half-hour mark and bagged his second three minutes later.
East Bengal could not find a way back into the contest after the break and their task was made even tougher with the 76th-minute dismissal of Edmilson after picking up a second yellow card.
The result avenged Al Wihdat's 2-0 victory in Amman two weeks ago and throws the Group B qualification race wide open.
