About LEICESTER CITY FC

Leicester City Football Club: is one of the oldest community based clubs in UK. In the year 2003 a Gary Linekar led consortium bought over the club's administration and now it is in stable hands while Manager Micky Adams creates miracles on the field. Micky gave the Fox supporters the call - KEEP THE FAITH that has been very popular and has kept the club going great guns. After all faith and handwork are the only things that makes miracles happen for East Bengal as well. Just click on the Fox's logo on our site and find out more about them from their site.

Gary Linekar is undoubtedly Leicester's favourite footballing son. His predatory instincts and his natural modesty marked him as something out of the ordinary while his goals helped City.

Gary was leading scorer for Leicester for four successive years and won seven England caps before becoming City's first £1 m export when moving to Everton in 1985.

Became leading marksman in the 1986 World Cup finals and continued to strike international goals with amazing regularity to finish his career tantalizingly one goal short of Bobby Charlton's England record. Gary now enjoys a successful career with the media, and put his name to the Linekar Consortium which took over the club in February 2003. Gary is now one of 40 shareholders in Leicester City Football Club Plc.

Filbert Fox is the very cuddly and very famous LCFC mascot. Infact all players and their supporters are called The Foxes. Mr. Filbert Fox never misses a first team game and is involved in school activities and charities. He is an ambassador of Leicester City FC and its community activities.

Walker Stadium: The club has moved just a few 100 meters from its historic home Filbert Street to the site of a former power station on the banks of the River Soar - there stands a stunning and futuristic collaboration of steel and glass that dominates the skyline of Leicester - The Walker Stadium. The City now fill their 32500 seater bowl shaped stadium every matchday. In addition the stadium has inbuilt facilities like conference and banqueting suits, offices, turnstiles, kiosks, the City Megastore, the ticket office, bars and restaurants that allows the stadium to address City's revenue requirements.

LCFC Walkers Academy: Leicester City's youth development programme has long been producing great footballing talents. Peter Shilton, Gary Linekar and more recently Matthew Piper and Jordan Stewart are all products of the Fox's youth set-up. Boys from age 8 to 19 receive specialist coaching from the academy.

Youth Academy Director Jon Rudkin who was recently (March 2004) over in Kolkata to help the India U 17 side oversees the development of young potential.
