I have been the President of the
illustrious East Bengal Club for two terms in succession (1995 till
date) and I am proud to be the President of this club for such a long
period, especially so in recent times as the club has been declared
the 7th Best Club in Asia. It is the first time any Indian club has
achieved this honour. Goes without saying, since 1995, the club has
performed exceptionally in the national and international arena.
By winning all the major tournaments of the country, which includes
triple champions crown at the NFL and winning international glories
like the LG Asean Cup, Kingfisher East Bengal has made all Indians
proud.
It was no mean achievement that East Bengal tied up as partners
with Leicester City FC and the exchange of expertise would help
us become a true international standard professional club.
Today the club is perched on competing at the Pepsi Max Challenge
at Leicester City and the quarter finals of AFC Cup 2004. The whole
of India needs to CHEER EAST BENGAL ON this season and many seasons
to come.
