Indian football team in 1952 Olympics. He was the mid-field
support to the Pancha Pandavs. |

Right Half Back. Played in the club from 1950
- 1956 and captained the team in 1955. He was the Back support
to the Pancha Pandavs. He was one of the most indispensable
players of the team during his career. |

Left-Out. Played for East Bengal from 1952 -
1954. He hailed from Pakistan and was the first sub-continent
Footballer to play professional league in England for a couple
of years from 1955. He toured USSR and Rumania with East Bengal
Club in 1953. |

Right Inside. The Vice-Captain of India Football
team in 1956 Olympic games, he played for the east Bengal Club
in 1955, 1956 and 1959 - 1960. |

| Sanat Sett |

Goalkeeper. One of the best Goalkeepers of the
country played for the club from 1957-1958 and 1967. |

| Moosa |
 |
Left Winger. A Pakistani National who played
for the Club from 1956 to 1958. He scored 50 goals for the Club
being their highest scorer in 1956 and 1957. Though he was a
left winger, he was a fine opportunist and scored a number of
goals for the Club. |
| He scored a brilliant goal which enabled East
Bengal to beat star studded Hyderabad Police 2-0 in the Durand
Cup Final in 1956. During his tenure the Club won D.C.M. (1957)
and I.F.A. Shield (1958). |

| Hassan |

Right Half Back. A Pakistani National who also
joined the Club along with Moosa in 1956. Although the latter
left in 1959 Hassan stayed on till the end of 1960. A hard working
Half Back he played a number of good games for the Club. One
that stands out was his outstanding performance -vs- Mohun Bagan
in the final of I.F.A. Shield in 1958 which ended in a 1-1 draw. |

| Ram Bahadur |

Left Midfielder. Played for the club from 1957
-1967. One of the finest midfielders the country has ever produced.
He was the captain of the East Bengal team in 1960 and played
for India in the 1960 Olympics. He was also a member of Indian
Football team which won the Gold Medal in 1962 Asian Games(Jakarta).
He was elected the best midfielder of the millennium of the
East Bengal club. |

| T. Balaram |

Left Inside. One of the most skillful forwards
of the country, he played for East Bengal from 1957 -1962. He
played for India in 1956 and 1960 Olympics and was also a member
of Gold Medal winning Indian Football team in 1962 Asiad. He
was captain of the club in 1961. In the same year he was the
highest scorer in the 1st Div league with 23 goals. He is an
Arjuna Awardee. |

scorer in 1959 and 1961. |

| D. Kannan |

Center Forward. A sharp shooter and a fine opportunist played
for the Club from 1959 to 1961. He scored 40 goals for the club
being their highest scorer in 1960. During his tenure the club
won D.C.M. (1960), Durand Cup (1960 - Joint), Calcutta Football
League (1961) and I.F.A. Shield (1961 - Joint). While playing

| Aroon Ghosh |

Stoppper Back. Played for our club from 1960
- 1962. Legend goes that he got selected into the Indian Team
for the 1960 Olympics having played his career's first 10 1st
Div League matches for our club. He was one of the members of
victorious Indian football team in 1962 Asian games. |
| Aroon Ghosh was one of the finest defenders India
ever produced and should be the idol for the descendent stoppers
in this country. He is an Arjuna Awardee and was the former
Director of Tata Football Academy (1997-2003) and lives peacefully
with his family in Howrah (WB). |
